Mrs. V's Language Arts class meets first thing in the morning! Remind your children to be ready to start their bellwork at the 7:45 bell!
We usually tackle about 20 new spelling words each week. Your child should be studying these words in some form for homework Monday through Thursday.
Persuasive Poetry
Write a poem to persuade people
to reuse & recycle,
to reduce our demand for natural resources,
or to reduce pollution.
Remember:
1. Poems including figurative language such as similes, metaphors, personification, alliteration, onomatopoeias, hyperbole, or assonance will get higher ratings.
Don’t try to have all of the poetic devices mentioned, just some.
2. Your poem may or may not rhyme, but needs rhythm.
3. Your poem may have stanzas or not have stanzas.
4. Be sure you have followed the writing prompt carefully.
5. Poems may not exceed one page in length.
